On May 3, 2019, a delegation of the Independent Media Commission (IMC), headed by the Chairman of the IMC Commission Mr. Muja FERATI and Acting Chief Executive Officer of the IMC Mr. Luan LATIFI, participated in the event marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Audiovisual Media Authority (AMA), of the Republic of Albania

Initially, the IMC delegation was received by the President of AMA, Mr. Gentian SALA, and Prof. Assoc. Dr. Mark MARKU, Head of the Department of Journalism and Communication at UT, who were the organizers of the Conference entitled "Audiovisual Media Market, Audience Behavior and Regulatory Framework”.

Chairman of the Independent Media Commission, Mr. Muja FERATI gave a keynote speech, where he welcomed the beginning of the scientific conference. Mr. FERATI presented his appreciation for the IMC cooperation with AMA, presented the role and mandate of the IMC as well as the latest developments regarding the digitalization in Kosovo. During his speech, Mr. FERATI also spoke about the importance of media pluralism in Kosovo. A challenge that is current from regulators in general, during his presentation at the conference held, Mr. FERATI also emphasized the role of regulators concerning Media Education, as a new platform in the field of media regulation.

The main topics covered at the Conference were: media market and audiovisual operators; audience behavior and programming; regulation and self-regulation in response to technological developments.
