The Independent Media Commission (IMC) submitted to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo today the
STRATEGY FOR DIGITAL BROADCASTING IN THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVA. The process of drafting the Strategy begun years ago and the document submitted to the Government today represents the work done by the IMC in cooperation and consultation with all relevant institutions and stakeholders.
The drafting process of the strategy has been carried out following public consultation procedures that are obligatory by law and which included broad-based consultations with relevant local and international institutions as well as national media industry in addition to regional/local.
With this strategy, the IMC aims to create a strong and inclusive legal basis that will enable successful implementation of the digitalization as an important national project.
Digitalization is a result of technical and technological development which carries certain internationally set deadlines which need to be met.
The IMC intends to respect the set deadlines and believes that if successful cooperation and coordination of work is established, Kosovo will pass this process successfully and without major delays, creating opportunities for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo to use quality services that digital broadcasting brings.
