The Executive Office of the Independent Media Commission informs the licensees and the public that from June 20, 2020, there will be no possibility to hold regular meetings and consequently take decisions, because the mandate of the Chairperson and a member of IMC expired on May 30, 2020, while the mandate of the Vice Chairperson expired on June 20, 2020.

According to Law no. 04 / L-44 on the Independent Media Commission, Article 15, Rules of Procedure of the IMC, point 2 states:

2. The IMC shall be considered to have been constituted if at least two-thirds (2/3) of members of the IMC are present at the initial meeting.

Currently, the Commission is composed of 4 members, so there should be at least 5 out of 7 members to elect the Chairperson and the Vice Chairperson. Therefore, in this composition, the Chairperson and the Vice Chairperson can not be elected until the appointment of other members by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

While the work of the Executive Office in performing its duties defined by the IMC legislation, continues normally.
