Reaction:

The Independent Media Commission (IMC) reacts  to the firearm attack on the car of journalist Shkumbin Kajtazi.   

The IMC considers that such an attack is both an attack on media freedom and freedom of expression in general. Journalists and media are playing a very important role, especially in this aggravated public health situation that our country is also facing seriously in this time of global pandemic with Covid-19.

Therefore, this attack is unacceptable for the IMC and requires the competent institutions to bring the perpetrators of this attack to justice as soon as possible, in order to provide a safe environment to practice the profession of journalism.

The IMC appreciates the commitment of every journalist and media, who are often putting themselves at risk, with the sole purpose of serving the public.
