The Independent Media Commission (IMC), on November 11, 2021, under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the IMC, Mr. Xhevat Latifi, has held sixteen regular meetings for this year.
Following the approval of the agenda and minutes from the last meeting, according to the agenda, the Commission discussed the progress of the work in monitoring the Audiovisual Media Service Providers (OSHMA) during the coverage of the election campaign in the second round of local elections for mayor, which is held on November 14, 2021.
Independent Media Commission in order to assess the compliance of the media with the Guideline for the implementation of Chapter VIII of the Election Law no. 03 / L-073, for the implementation of which the IMC is responsible, monitored the Audiovisual Media Service Providers during the election campaign.
For all findings from the monitoring of media service providers, the IMC has followed all legal steps and procedures until the review of cases by the Commission. According to the findings of the monitoring process, the IMC has initiated several legal cases which are related to violations of the legislation of the Independent Media Commission.
In this regard, the IMC has reviewed several legal cases related to violations identified by the monitoring of Audiovisual Media Service Providers (AMSO), during the election campaign of the second round of local elections.
The Commission has reviewed all these cases and after reviewing has decided as follows:
