The Independent Media Commission (IMC), on April 12, 2022, under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the IMC, Mr. Xhevat Latifi, has held eight regular meetings for this year.

Following the approval of the agenda and minutes from the last meeting, according to the agenda, the Commission has reviewed a request of the Association of Independent Electronic Media of Kosovo (AMPEK), regarding the extension of the deadline for starting terrestrial broadcasting for Audiovisual Media Service Providers ( AVMS) local and regional. IMC, on March 17, 2022 has received a request from local and regional televisions through which they have asked to set an optimal deadline to resume broadcasting through terrestrial frequencies, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the license that each of them has.

After reviewing the request, the Commission based on Article 3, paragraph 1, of Law no. 04 / L-44 on the Independent Media Commission, decided to partially approve the request of AMPEK and to oblige all media outlets with local and regional broadcasting, which use the frequencies according to the Broadcast Frequency Spectrum Plan, to return in terrestrial broadcasting until 30 September 2022.

Following the meeting, the Commission also reviewed several legal cases of violations of Article 30 of the Copyright Law by several distribution operators:

SWISS PLUS 1, PROGRES, COMNET-A, BLEDI, DOT NET, MONET, ASTRA NET, MAX TV, LINK PRODUKCIJA, ISP BROADCAST, IPTV TECH, KADRIA NET, JOB NET, KDS TELESTAR, KUGO TV, KUMANOVION CAB VISTA, KUJTESA NET,  IPKO, BB HERC, ARTMOTION, GALAKTIKA, CONNECT 3, MTS D.O.O, SPEED TV, TELKOS, TV EHO and TEL COMMUNICATIONS.LL.C.

After reviewing the cases, the Commission decided that all distribution operators listed above, be sanctioned with Remarks in accordance with Article 30 paragraph 1 of the IMC Law, Article 30, paragraph 1, of the IMC Law, the distribution operators are obliged to register all the agreements for the channels which are broadcast from the date of entry into force of the Government Decision and to notify the IMC within (15) days from the day of receiving the Decision. regarding the actions you have taken to act in accordance with Article 30, paragraph 2, of Law no. 04 / L-065 on Copyright and Related Rights.
