The delegations of the Independent Media Commission and the Audiovisual Media Authority of Albania during their stay in the US, held a meeting with Bill McCarren Executive Director of the National Press Club (National Press Club) and Gilbert Klein President of the Institute of Journalism, ish President of the National Press Club. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the IMC, Mr. Xhevat Latifi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Faruk Rexhaj, while AMA Chairman Mrs. Armela Krasniqi, Acting Secretary General, at the same time Director of Foreign Relations, Romelda Rrapollari

The National Press Club was founded in 1908 and serves as a professional and social organization for journalists and communication professionals.

The interlocutors discussed the challenges facing the media today around the world and the difficulties of professional journalists to practice their profession in the service of the public without being influenced by various phenomena that are affecting the media.

The meeting was convinced that complex developments in various sectors of social life have increased the need to increase cooperation between institutions and relevant actors in this field.

It was agreed with the National Press Club to start exploring opportunities for the exchange of experiences through best practices and the support of the entire Albanian media with projects to increase and strengthen capacity.

Earlier, the two delegations held a meeting at DASH with the Director of the Office for Central and Southeast Europe, Mr. Martin McDowell and also with Mrs. Olga Madruga-Forti, Federal Communications Commission.
