The Independent Media Commission was visited by a group of activists and representatives of non-governmental organizations to discuss the work of the IMC. This meeting was attended by leaders and representatives of non-governmental organizations from AMPEK, KMSHK, AGK, Betimi per Dreghësi, D4D, Epik Institute, FOL, GAP, GLPS, IKD, INPO, Musine Kokollari Institute, KDI, YIHR and Ms. Flutura Kusari, media activist and lawyer.
In his introductory speech, the President Mr. Mehmeti welcomed the attendees, introducing them to the work of the IMC, focusing on the IMC's commitment to advancing the regulation of the media market in terms of media ownership and concentration, the quick handling of citizens' complaints, such as and decision-making procedures, including the annulment of the decision to suspend the transmission of Arena Sport sports channels.
Activists and civil society representatives said that from those who constantly monitor the work of the IMC, they have evidenced the increase in the transparency of the IMC's work, the development of public consultations and the timely publication of official data. At the end of the meeting, all the representatives present said that they support the work of the IMC as well as the institutional independence of the regulator according to legal powers.
