IMC hosted young journalists from the School of Journalism Ethics of KMSHK

The Independent Media Commission (IMC), on June 10, 2024, hosted a group of young journalists and journalism students from the School of Journalism Ethics, as part of a study visit organized by the Kosovo Print Media Council (KMShK ).
Representatives of the IMC presented to the participants about the organization, operation and role of the IMC as a regulator of audio visual media in the Republic of Kosovo, with special emphasis on the media monitoring process. The presentation was focused on compliance with the Code of Ethics for Media Service Providers in the Republic of Kosovo, respectively issues related to:
• Harmful and offensive content:
• Vulgar and offensive language:
• Incitement to hatred:
• Impartiality and accuracy of the news:
• Individual rights:
• Representation of children and minors in OSHMA programs:
• Right of reply:
• National interest and general security.
Also, the legal framework, procedures and deadlines as well as complaints to the media and their treatment in general by the IMC were topics that were presented.
In addition to the presentations, there was also a discussion, where the IMC officials answered the various questions that the students had, on issues related to the regulation of licensees, monitoring by the IMC of Audiovisual Media Services
This meeting was a continuation of other meetings and cooperation of the KPM with the KMShK, with the aim of promoting the ethical standards of journalism, increasing the quality of reporting in the media and protecting the public's interest. IMC remains an institution that is always ready to offer opportunities for such cooperation and meetings, especially with young journalists, regarding issues related to media regulation in the country.
