The Chairman of the Independent Media Commission, Mr. Jeton Mehmeti, participated in the regional conference on "A digital agenda for the safety of children in the Western Balkans", held in Tirana, and organized by CRCA/ECPAT Albania, AMA and TikTok Europe.

In his speech, President Mehmeti talked about the commitment of the IMC to the protection of children from harmful media content through by-laws, the creation of cooperation with non-governmental organizations for the protection of children, as well as through educational campaigns and activities. He added that the IMC is ready to expand cooperation with video distribution platforms in order to prevent content that harms the moral, mental and physical health of children.

Gentiana Çavdarbasha, Besim Rexhepi and Luljeta Islamaj took part in the workshop on children's digital safety from IMC.

At the end of the meeting, the heads of regulatory authorities from Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Albania held a meeting with the aim of sharing practices for the protection of children, including cooperation with the digital platform TikTok.
