The Chairman of the Independent Media Commission Mr. Jeton Mehmeti is participating in the meeting of the European Platform of Media Regulators (EPRA) which is being held in Limassol, Cyprus. The EPRA meeting started with the presentation of Chairman Mehmeti, who spoke about the powers, obligations and jurisdiction of the IMC according to the new Law on the IMC.

"Harmonization of Kosovo's laws with European directives, including media legislation, is happening. Unlike many other laws, the Law on the IMC has evoked numerous reactions from local and international institutions, including the Council of Europe, the OSCE , the People's Advocate and the Association of Journalists. This interest in contributing to its content proves that freedom of expression and media in Kosovo is widely appreciated and discussed."

The 60th meeting of EPRA is being held under the organization of the Cyprus media regulator (CRTA) and focuses on the impact of Artificial Intelligence in the work of the media regulator.

From the IMC, the Acting Chief Executive Mr. Niman Racaj and the Director of the Monitoring and Analysis Department Mr. Mirand Tafarshiku are also participating.

Founded in 1995, EPRA has 55 members from 47 different European countries. IMC is a full member.
